Racial Equity

Our Philosophy & Methodology

We believe in the institutionalization of Racial Equity work. Institutionalization is a way to keep the work accountable, it helps indicate to the community, stakeholders who owns the work and steer the analysis for the organization. We believe in integrating an anti-racist lens and specifically concentrate our understanding of how anti-blackness can prevail in this work.

Methodology
We believe organizations who are interested in doing racial equity must establish a dynamic Racial Equity Team (RET) to lead the work and hold the organization accountable to the values and the work. The purpose of the RET is to create, develop, and implement internal and external commitments towards racial equity in all aspects of any organization’s work.

The RET’s work should focus on the inequities based on race, ethnicity and culture, while recognizing that this work exists within the context of any organization and it’s intersectional commitment to equity on class, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, and other issues. Through racial equity lens, New Directions Consulting brings an expertise in supporting institutional efforts in developing their Racial Equity Team.  We support the Racial Equity Team vetting process, strategic planning, and implementation and evaluation to forge pathways in transforming organizations to a racially just institutions.
